Bonanza Peach
I've grown Bonanzas for over 20 years with great results. It reaches 8-10 feet tall with a 10" canopy. I've found it to be somewhat self-thinning, very unlike the non-dwarf varieties. The fruit can get really big by harvest time in June. It tastes great when ripe. Another benefit is you use a net to control birds. Terrific to fill in a corner. Based on the advantages, I prefer Bonanza over the standard-size peaches. My tip is to remove twins early and let the singlets get real big. They can ripen in your kitchen. Freeze the excess by placing cut-up fruit in freezer bags with no par-boiling and use the frozen pieces along with bananas and juice in smoothies until the next season.
